Project Overview
Efficient Developments was awarded the Monroe Road Streetscape Project by the City of Charlotte on May 4, 2026. Valued at $6,077,941.00, this project will deliver major pedestrian, roadway, and utility improvements along approximately 1.01 miles of Monroe Road. Designed to improve pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity, the project includes new signalization at four intersections, pedestrian hybrid beacons and midblock pedestrian crossings, 10-foot-wide concrete shared-use paths, storm drainage improvements, water main and sewer upgrades, asphalt pavement widening, milling and overlay of the existing roadway, and concrete curb and gutter installation.
